Purpose and Intent

The Sandpiper Dragons Golf Club  has been established to provide an opportunity for people who share a common interest and belief that the Game of Golf can and should be played for enjoyment and camaraderie.

We are interested in the social as well as the competitive aspects of the game. Our attempt will be to provide a variety of golf at a variety of locations where the players can share one another’s company, interest in the game, experience a friendly bit of competition, and just have a good time. Matches will be arranged that will vary from individual competition, two, three, and four person teams, with a variety of formats that will focus on the game. Groups will be organized to create a balance in ability to have competitive but fun matches. Golfers will experience playing with players of equal ability as well as mixed ability. The spirit of the game will be to have fun while the opportunity to compete will exist for those who like that aspect.

Our goal will be to play many of the golf courses in the area which will provide a variety of types, styles, and challenges for the beginer and the accomplished golfer. Our common theme will be for all to enjoy the experience.

Membership is for those who share a commitment to having a good time on the golf course. Golf will be played for fun, enjoyment, camaraderie, shared interests, and a few laughs. USGA Rules will be observed and discussed and will govern all games. Certain rules may be relaxed depending on the ability of the player and the match being played. Handicaps will be established at some time to provide a greater variety of games and matches. Laughs, chuckles, and giggles will be required during each round. Golf tips and instruction may be shared during a match if requested. Congratulations after good shots and condolences after bad shots may be exchanged if done with the spirit of the club in mind.

Regular, Special Events and Golf Trips

We generally play golf every Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and  a number of Wednesday's.  In 2022, we scheduled over 170 play dates at more than 80 different golf courses in the NC/SC Myrtle Beach area and a number of different east coast areas for group golf trips..

The Sandpiper Dragons Golf Group does a number of different special events throughout the year. We have held Dragon Cup and Dragon Championship Tournaments. 

We have had a number of 120+ player shotguns at some of the best golf tracks in the area with incredible low pricing.

We also do a number of Golf Trips each year.  In 2019 we had 180 attendees going to Orlando,Fl. We have already had trips to the Pinehurst Area (multiple times), Hilton Head (multiple times), Greensboro, Charleston, Fayetteville and Columbia, SC.

Becoming a Member

You must click on the Join Us Link above. Follow the steps by entering all the necessary information. Your Application will be forwarded to an Administrator who will notify you if you have been approved. Only those who play or intend to play with the Sandpiper Dragons Golf Group will be approved and granted access to our Member Pages. We currently have a large waiting list for new members.

Members: Golfers who play with the group and pay an annual fee.
